TESTIMONIALS
Check out the following quotes from some of our guests and attendees, and below those check out some links featuring reviews and coverage of the convention, to get a good idea of what people are saying about our show:
"I had the opportunity this last weekend to walk the Long Beach Comic & Horror Con. The past 3 years I have attended as a budding young (well old) artist and enjoyed my time in the Artist Alley. From the veteran creators of the comic industry to the new faces looking to tell their own stories, there is an overall drive of creativity, energy and passion for the comic medium. The diversity of styles, content, ages and viewpoints just show how much people love comics." -Chris Waterman for Bleeding Cool.com
"While the convention is still in its nursing stage, only four years old, the enthusiasm each attendant brought that day makes it easy to say that the LBCC might one day match the San Diego Comic Con in both attractions and participants." -Fredy Tlatenchi for Daily Sundial.com
"For a first time con, the long beach comic con treated the pros and the fans to a real treat. I especially enjoyed the relaxed surroundings and actually got to spend some time with some real special people as well. this is the kind of show we will keep coming back to year after year. congrats to everyone that made it happen."
- Jimmy Palmiotti
"I was so happy to be an attendee at the 1st annual Long Beach Comic Book convention. I wanted to attend all 3 days, but I had a previous obligation get in the way. I won't let that happen again. The location is great, the energy was fantastic, a full offering of vendors, artists, screen actors, panel discussions and workshops and the parking was the best! I can't say enough about my first experience there. It was great, I plan to be a regular and share this annual event with my kids and friends as well."
- Ron Zeilinger, The Dezign Haus
"Intimate enough to mingle with the artists, yet big enough to inspire awe.... the LB Comic Con started something that will hopefully continue to grow and inspire year after year!"
- Jim Lujan
"It was a pleasure to attend the Long Beach Comic Convention. What I liked best was how easy it was to get to the convention. The best part of this comic convention was it was about comics!!! The main reason I attended was to browse Artists Alley. I saw all my favorites and noticed a few new ones. I think the venue was perfect. Downtown Long Beach offers a beautiful view to go along with the shopping center around it. Thanks for a great time and I can't wait to attend next year, and many more to come."
- Jarrod Kawashima, Geoffrey's Comics
"A Comic Book Convention with more comic books on the vendor floor than anything else! How refreshing! I loved that I could speak with comic book artists without feeling overwhelmed by humongous crowds."
- Rachel Bieber, City of Torrance Reference Librarian
"The Long Beach Comic Con was simply a great show. It felt very enthusiastic and friendly. Even the pros were nothing but polite and friendly. Berkley Breathed and some of the guests even had their families with them. It's a great family show and there is lot's to do in the city within walking distance. I've been involved with comics and conventions since the 1980's. There was plenty to do and see with out it being crazy or too. This has become my new favorite show. My only regret was not getting a table for it."
-Joseph Krejci, Graphic Artist, Collage Teacher, and Self Pubished Artist
"You could not have asked for a better comic con, than the Long Beach Comic Con. It being the first year of the show, we (Fiction House Mafia) had no idea what to expect. We had heard the buzz of guests that would appear. J. Scott Campbell, Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee- to name a few. One of the best things about the show is that it was well rounded. Where some of the shows you don't really get the chance to converse with your favorite creators and they managed to pull it off. It was awesome!!! If you're an independent creator take into consideration this convention, because the focus that they put on their booths, artist alley tables, is really second to none. We had an artist alley table and sold out of every book we took."
- Albert Morales (Artist, El Mystico), Fiction House Mafia
"The Long Beach Comic Con was a great opportunity for fans and pros to meet in a great environment. Sign me up for next year!"
- John Drdek, writer, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"
"I had such a blast at Long Beach Comic Con! There was a wide variety of things to see and do and a great lineup of guests. As a creator it was a great chance to network with other creators but I also had fun attending the show as a fan!"
- Brendan Creecy

An open letter to everyone who attended Long Beach Comic Con:
Thank you for making the Inaugural Long Beach Comic Con an overwhelming success - needless to say, we could not have done it without you.
We're still smiling at the memory of all of you from last weekend in Long Beach. We started off the weekend on Friday, with Stan Lee and Councilmember Garcia cutting the ribbon to open the show -- and from that moment on, the convention hall came alive. There was a real sense of excitement; an electric vibe in the air... and that enthusiasm carried us throughout a spectacular, fun-filled weekend.
Check out some of the pics from the convention, taken by our staff at the LBCC Flickr Page!
And, we've started a Flickr group so that YOU can upload YOUR pictures, as well! We'd love to see them!
Again, thanks so much to each and every one of you who attended. It was an incredibly fun time. All of us at Long Beach Comic Con send our appreciation for your support and hope that we'll see you again next year. There WILL be a next year -- stay tuned for details.
Until then, keep smiling!
Warmly,
Martha Donato
